Finally! An Honest Jet!

As the Jets were preparing for their game with the Pittsburgh Steelers today (and they will almost certainly lose because of their quarterbacks—you know, the one who throws more completions to the opposing team than his own and the one who fumbles like the ball’s grenade) some angry tri-state area fan flew, or hired, a plane (which I believe is the only winning Jet in this situation), trailing a banner reading, FIRE JOHN IDZIK (the Jets’ GM).

The Jets are so bad this year that EVERYONE in their front office should get the boot, but maybe the fan couldn’t afford a banner big enough to hold everyone’s name. Idzik is so unpopular that there’s a website and Twitter page devoted to his firing. The sites’ hosts say they did not hire the plane, but they did raise more than $10,000 to place FIRE JOHN IDZIK billboards near MetLife stadium.

The plane and the billboards combine to deliver a far more potent air attack than the Jets have mounted this season. . .

Devon Still

After the Bengals announced 100% of profits from Devon Still’s jerseys would go pediatric cancer Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints head coach, ‘spontaneously’ bought 100 to help the cause. Stills’s daughter is in the middle of a fight against stage four pediatric cancer and is getting tons of support from the Bengals community along with everyone else. Still was recently promoted from the practice squad to the 53 man roster. At least in the world of sports today there is Still something to smile about.

Eli Manning

The Giants have a goal set for Eli Manning. 70% completion rate. That’s only been achieved by six quarterbacks before. This is insane given that Eli’s career completion percentage is 58.5% and his highest ever completion rate is 62.9%. What people are forgetting is that if you count Eli’s passes to the other team (27) he almost reached the 70% goal.

Here are the previous quarterbacks
to accomplish this feat

Quarterback                Pct.      Year
Drew Brees, NO          71.2     2011
Drew Brees, NO          70.6     2009
Ken Anderson, CIN    70.6     1982
Sammy Baugh, WSH  70.3     1945
Steve Young, SF          70.3     1994
Joe Montana, SF         70.2      1989
Alex Smith, SF            70.2      2012

Vince Wilfork

Vince Wilfork, the New England Patriots big defensive lineman, got down over the long weekend dancing while grilling on memorial day. Apparently, the small Mercer basketball players aren’t the only ones who have moves. Watch out dance circles…

Jim Irsay

Jim Irsay’s mugshot

Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, was arrested last night for drunk driving in Indianapolis. Like father like son: Bob Irsay, Jim Irsay’s father, decieved his fans when he snuck the Colts out of Baltimore in the middle of the night on March 29th, 1984. and Jim Irsay in a twitter post last october Irsay said he NEVER drank.
